Audio Curiosity — Vintage HiFi Experts

Raised in a household of HiFi and music lovers I was exposed to a lot of cool tech growing up. And not just the outside, my family were always taking the lids off the gear, seeing how it worked, making modifications or fixing something. I was taught how to solder at age 5 and this opened up so many possibilities for a wide eyed child with a love for audio.

By the time I was double digits I already had my own HiFi system in my bedroom made up of cast offs or magazine projects (R.I.P. Maplin electronics). 

As a boy still at school I did my work experience at a repair shop in Sheffield and it was quickly apparent that this was going to be my career. 

Later I worked for a handful of repair and service firms, notably settling at Quadrant Video who were Sony and Panasonic agents for Pro AV gear in the 90’s, which gave me some really good close work with manufactures and their training.

I learned a tenacious approach to repairs and diagnostics, and there’s nothing quite like getting to the bottom of a fault or restoring a nice vintage piece to its former glory.
